Washington, D.C., before the Trump Administration had a history of bungling the implementation of any type of major new program. It could be said, but it would be a false statement to say that Washington D.C had forgotten, that it has the power to positively affect the lives of millions of Americans but that is not the case under the Trump Administration.

The Mission Act is a welcome shock to that “do nothing” Washington D.C. system of past presidential and political regimes that shows the Trump Administration is more than willing and able to buckle down and deliver real reform, just imagine what the Trump Administration could do if not having to tackle the witch hunts and invisible whistle blower impeachment scams.

Thanks to the many thousands of dedicated VA workers around America and President Donald J. Trump’s Administration at the helm and the support for this historic reform, many elements of the Mission Act took effect on June 6, 2019. Veterans are now benefiting from the largest transformation in veterans’ health care since the end of World War II.

The media silence on such an achievement was not only insulting to the Trump Administration, but more so to the many thousands of Veterans, the current enlisted, their families and supporters who fought hard for the Mission Act. The Mission Act that finally brings about the Human Dignity, that every veteran so rightly deserves. The Mission Act is such a revolution because it will affect the health care decisions and lives of Millions of Veterans and their families for many years to come. It must be mentioned that the Mission Act in its current revolutionary form has changed the lives of our Great American Heroes and their families for the better.

At its core center, the Mission Act reflects President Donald J. Trump’s vision that veterans must be at the center of health care decisions. No more long drives to the VA, no more long waiting times, when services cannot be offered to meet a veteran needs, or if it’s simply in the best medical interest of a veteran to use non-VA services, they can now seek care in their own community.

The changes brought about by the revolutionary Mission Act were a long time in the making and would possibly still be in “the Washington D.C. forgetful making” if it were not for the get up and go of President Donald J. Trump’s Administration. It is shameful that past presidential and political regimes forced the Veterans and their families, who give up so much to endure such violations of their Human Dignity. Rural veterans, many of whom live nowhere close to a VA hospital or clinic suffered even more. However, the new revolutionary Mission Act is much more than just an “extension” of the wallpaper over the crack “Choice program” that was enacted under the Obama era. The Obama Choice program was temporary, narrow and incomplete, while the Mission Act is permanent and will put a much broader group of veterans in the driver’s seat when it comes to taking care of their health and families.

The response to the Mission Act from those great Veterans who wear their uniform with pride and honor to defend the Great American Nation was immediate and sustained. A tool that was developed to decide whether veterans are eligible for community care is now being utilized tens of thousands of times each and every day. That alone shows the success of the Mission Act and the integral honest approach to getting things done by President Donald J. Trump and his Administration.

The Mission Act also created the urgent care benefit that finally allows veterans the opportunities to access what others have always had in their neighborhood, why such great honorable veterans defending the Great American Nation were not afforded such an opportunity before the Mission Act is shameful. However, the Great Veterans now finally have access to nearby care to treat ailments that need immediate attention, such as the flu or a sprained ankle.

Currently, thousands of urgent care visits have been scheduled for veterans under the Mission Act. By mid-July 2019, veteran visits started to exceed 500 visits each day, and the number has been growing each week as veterans learn more about the new benefits available through the revolutionary Mission Act.

President Donald J. Trump’s Administration through the Mission Act have given the Veterans back their Human Dignity and possibly even their lives in many circumstances. The Mission Act allows the VA what all other major health care systems have — a way of referring patients to outside care when needed. Community care is one piece, while the new urgent care benefit in another. There are nearly 5,000 urgent care providers in the network so far, and that number is set to expand, creating even more jobs under the Trump Administration, as providing care to veterans continues to grow with even more care options coming on stream when and where the veterans need it.

Our veterans, who answered the call of duty and fought for our freedom and our interests around the world, deserve nothing less.
